I fully agree, it's time to let go of fear and grasp the opportunity to do something new, without holding on to the old. Let's face it; it's all the "innovation" we have been doing so far that has gotten us into this mess! True innovation has noth...

Good question. I believe that a lot of the resistance, that I was talking about, comes from within ... it comes from having to change the base premises and the core values that you have at any point in time ... it comes from projecting these valu...

Every society/community has it's own developmental gravity. The gravity pulls you to up to that level, but if you try to go beyond, you are held back and you will feel resistance. However, we are not only affected by the gravity - we are part of i...

My Favourite Quote:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

----from A Return to Love, by Marianne Williamson.
My favourite movie, and my favourite book
Richard Bach: Jonathan Livingston Seagull
My passion is . . .

A call for innovation

Many of the things you do in the name of continuous improvement are the polar opposite to what you need to do if you were committed to continuous innovation”.

The quote is from innovation expert Darrell Mann who held a presentation at the Technical University of Denmark last week, which I was fortunate enough to attend.

So why do focus so much on improvements? In the business world we talk LEAN and Six Sigma … in the environmental discussions we hear the community talking about… Continue

Groundhog Day

When I think of what is possible, and what is not, I am reminded of the movie ”Groundhog Day”.

One of the sub-plots is, that Bill Murray figures out he can learn anything once time is not an issue: being a pianist, and ice sculptor, knowing French poetry, …

The same is true for me!

If I dedicate 1 hour a day for the next 30 years to learn one thing, I can assure you that I will be pretty darn good at it at that time (assuming I live that long, and if I don’t, I won’t be around to regre… Continue

Looks like a good, tool, let's look at some good questions, and offer the option for comments; something like: "How can we be a better community" and/or "What kind of content would you like to see on Open World Café Community (related to sustainability and leadership)"?

Best,
