Dialogues on Sustainability and Life Leadership

The Summer Olympic Games in 2016 will be held in Rio de Janeiro! What an opportunity to put "A Cidade Maravilhosa" (The Marvelous City) back on the world's map!

The Olympics are of course debatable; do they bring prosperity, or do they just cost a lot of money at the expense of other more important projects? Rio has many challenges, too many to think of (we lived there 2000 - 2002), but nothing comes close to the beauty, the friendliness, and sheer "joia" (joy) of it's it's people the "Carioca", it's land- and seascapes, and the diversity that permeates everything you see and experience there.

I would like to congratulate the people of Brazil and specifically the Cariocas around the world and in Rio de Janeiro from the bottom of my heart!

Parabens!

Christer

What can I/You/We do to help make the Summer Olympics a spectacular success for the people, the environment, and the shared economic prosperity of the region?

Looking forward to your ideas and comments.

Please go to http://xeesm.com/JorgePurgly and click under youtube line. You will find a 2 minute video about Rio 2016 that I like very much. I expect that you will like it too. At the same page visit my blogs. One with pictures of the 350 Carbon Day from Open Café, other about Solar Energy and the last but not least with pictures about Rio Olimpic Games. I will appreciate your comments.

I have a dream. It is that the organisation Grupo Cultural De Baguncaco, a marvellous grass root organisation in the infamous favela Alagados in Salvador, Bahia (check out www.baguncaco.se) could send 30 of their kids to work for the Olypmic games in 2016. I have started a foundation whose sole aim is to finance the day-to-day costs (salaries, rent, electricity, internet) for the center, but I live in Sweden and speak poor favela portugese (worked at Baguncaco for 6 months and everything I know I have learnt there) and could not run such a project. So I set the question out: Anyone intersted in looking into such a project? Abraco, Frida
